Skills for Life

Scouting in Glamorgan West provides everyday adventure to 6-25 years olds in Swansea, Neath and Port Talbot. We have 32 groups, 10 Explorer Scout Units and 3 campsites.

Scouting aims to deliver an inspiring programme aimed at preparing our Young People with ‘Skills for Life’. This strategy supports and empowers both Young People and Volunteers and brings communities together and contributes towards a better society.

Welcome to Glamorgan West

We have groups all along the M4 corridor from Pontardulais in the West to Aberavon in the East, from Reynoldston on the Gower Peninsular to Cwmgwrach in the Neath Valley – we should have a group near you.

We have a promising new Sea Scout Activity Centre and Water Activities team, as well as a host of volunteers that deliver exciting programmes to over 1000 members every week.

Adult volunteers

The Scouts award-winning training scheme for volunteers means that adults get as much from Scouts as young people.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
