Area Activity Day 2022

Dear Scouter

The Activity Day will commence at 10.00 am, break for the AGM at 12:30pm, and conclude with a BBQ and campfire at the end of the afternoon, from approximately 4.00 p.m.

The Activity Day and AGM is open to all volunteers, Explorer Scouts and parents of Explorer Scouts across Glamorgan West.  Please circulate this notice as widely as possible.

Parking

Due to limited car parking on the Silver Cross Site, we have arranged off-site parking at the Persimmon Homes site at Penllergaer Business Park, SA4 9HJ. Google Maps Link.

The Area minibus will run from this car park to Silver Cross from 9.30 to 10.30 and 11.30 to 12.15.  If you arrive outside of these times, please call 07780 688381.

For invited guests and those with accessibility requirements, parking will be available in the main Silver Cross carpark, by prior arrangement with the Area Secretary.

Refreshments

If you will be coming for the whole day, we would suggest that you bring a packed lunch and a mug.  Tea, coffee and cold drinks will be available throughout the day.

BBQ

Booking for the activities or the AGM is not required, however, if you are staying for the BBQ, please book using the link below, (any problems, please contact me.)

Lift Sharing

If anyone has difficulty in getting to the AGM, please let me know and we will try and put you in touch with someone who can offer a lift.

If you can offer someone a lift to the AGM, let me know, from where and at what time.

Activities

Activities and bases on offer will be:

• Archery and Rifle shooting
• Backwards cooking and demonstrations
• Axe throwing
• The Training Team will be on site to help with any training queries
• Activities Team will be there to talk about the activities they offer
• Information will be available from the Area Inclusion Team
• Fire lighting demonstrations
• Pioneering demonstrations
• Vacancies board.
